Buy a Mac, Get an iPod Touch

Apple’s annual Back to School promo has arrived. Here are the basics:

  • You need to be faculty, staff, a student, or accepted for admission to a higher education institution, so bring a student ID or other proof.
  • Purchase an iMac, MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, or a Mac Pro, either online or at an Apple Store.
  • At the same time, buy an iPod touch, iPod Classic 120GB, iPod nano 16GB, iPod nano 8GB, or iPod shuffle 4GB.
  • Your parents can make the purchase on your behalf.
  • Submit your rebate claim online immediately (yes, rebates suck, but at least this one can be done online – back in the day you had to send in UPCs), and Apple will send you a rebate for the price of the iPod.
  • Here’s Apple’s FAQ page for the promo.
  • For fun, here’s the Terms & Conditions PDF (hey, you’re law students).

Thanks to Aaron Pelley, who writes the Criminal Defense Law With An Apple blog, for the tip.
