I really used the Lexis "Understanding" Series a lot, especially Understanding Property and Understanding Criminal Law. The crim law one was written by the author of my casebook, and so I basically just read the hornbook and never read for class... Even one of my professors who was not a fan of using supplements said he didn't mind when students used them as "an aid to master the material" (of course, we're not supposed to use as a complete substitute!) :)
