Introducing the Mac Law Students Forum

Well, the initial testing is over. Thanks to Brian Cavner and the squad of guinea pigs forum testers, the new Mac Law Students forum is officially operational. You can check it out at http://www.maclawstudents.com/forum/ (catchy URL, isn’t it?).

Here’s the plan for integrating the blog with the forum: The blog will still proceed on it’s merry way, but every time a new post goes up on the blog, a concurrent entry will be automagically entered into the forum. Rather than using the blog’s comments system, the forum will become the place to discuss/critique/elaborate/continue the discussion. Of course the forum already includes a variety of other topics as well.

Guest posting is currently allowed for forum posts relating to blog posts, so you won’t have to register as a forum user in order to comment. We’ll see how this works. But if you want to join in any of the other discussion in the forum, you will have to register. We’re using vBulletin, which so far has proven to be very flexible and powerful forum software.

One more important note for those of you who subscribe to the Mac Law Students feed: In order to make this automagic topic posting work, vBulletin requires that we switch our FeedBurner settings from supporting multiple feed formats to solely RSS 2.0. Most of you will be unaffected by this, as most readers should handle this without a hiccup.

If your feed reader is affected by the change, please delete the original feed and resubscribe. That should fix the problem. If it doesn’t, please let me know.
