Virtue Desktop No Longer

With OS X 10.5 (aka “Leopard”) coming to stores sometime within the next three months or so, it seems the creator of Virtue Desktop has stopped development. Leopard will incorporate a feature called Spaces that will replicate the capabilities of Virtue Desktop. Gianpaolo wrote a review of Virtue Desktop back in December.

Speed Up Mail.app

Hawk Wings has an excellent tip for cleaning up OS X’s built-in email application. It only takes a moment, and is well worth the time. The tip is a command you run in Terminal, which basically gets rid of cruft in your Mail.app database. As a result, the app runs faster and accesses mailboxes lickety-split. [...]

Report Says Apple Customer Service Leads Computer Industry

Business Week has created a Top 25 Customer Service Elite, their list of companies that are in the top of their class for customer satisfaction. The list is based on survey data from JD Power & Associates. Apple came in at #18, but beat out big-name competitors Dell and H-P, which didn’t make the cut. [...]
